Q: What is a Truck Mounted Unit?
A: Many people do not know what a truck mounted unit is. Truck mounted units heat water to a temperature that will break down soil, blast it into submission and extract it, taking it into a reservoir in our truck. Just as important, truck mounted units provide powerful suction needed so your carpets are left with only a slight dampness that dries much faster than regular mobile carpet cleaning machines.

Q: What is the typical drying time for steam cleaned carpet?
A: Typically 3 to 8 hours. You can walk on the carpet right away Some areas may take up to 24 hours depending on the situation The key to getting dampness out of your carpet is airflow. Many times we will speed dry or tag along a blower from room to room. This speeds up the dry time.
We recommend that you do the following two things to enhance your drying time:
1. Set your room temperature to 72 degrees on your HVAC unit and leave the HVAC fan in the “On” position.
2. Turn all ceiling fans on high speed.

Q: Should I move my furniture or will your technicians move the furniture for me?
A: We want our technicians to be great carpet cleaners rather than great movers, so we keep them away from moving large bulky items such as large formal dining room tables, china hutches, any type of electronics including entertainment centers, and in the bedroom we leave beds and dressers in place. Our thoughts are to use common sense regarding your furniture. For example, we would not move (nor would you want us to move) a baby grand piano. Our technicians would be happy to move items such as sofas, love seats, tables, and chairs if you would like. Light furniture only.

Q: What should I do to prepare for the technician’s arrival?
A: Please pick up any toys, decorative items and small furniture that are on the carpet. We recommend that the carpet be vacuumed and ready, so we can focus on the job of carpet cleaning and we will take it from there.

Q: Will there be any residue left on my carpet?
A: No, Our Carpet cleaning company thoroughly rinses the carpet so that no residue is left in your carpet. This is why your carpet has such a fresh scent after we are done! All of the dirt and soil, along with our cleaning emulsifiers have been completely rinsed out of your carpet.

Q: How long does it take to clean a whole home up to 2,000 sq. feet?
A: Depending on the soil level of the carpet and any stain areas, approximately two to 3 hours. Once finished, our carpet cleaners will use blowers to dry it quickly.

Q: Does your carpet cleaning company have any hidden charges?
A: No! We pride ourselves on being up front with our customers on our carpet cleaning prices and our service. We know why you called us, anything extra, will be disused with you before we start, this is done with the pre-inspection of your carpet before it is cleaned. The price we quoted you over the phone is what you will pay to clean your carpet using our step by step process, unless the square footage areas are larger that explained or there are additional areas or services added y the customer. Best Carpet Cleaning Experts does have two items that are offered as extra services and thus considered extra charges if a customer is interested:

DuPont Teflon Protection
Enzyme and Odor Treatment
Rotary Cleaning or Restoration this can be done on extremely dirty carpet, and price is quoted before starting any cleaning.

Also and not as common, we do have an alternative treatment for color stains such as stains caused by juices and Kool-Aid, if we were unable to remove them with our step by step process. This alternative process is a little more involved and is an extra charge, and we cannot guarantee that we can get the color stain completely removed.

Q: What steps do you take to protect my home when cleaning with equipment and hoses?
A: Our carpet cleaners are always careful inside your home. Additionally, technicians will use furniture blocks and plastic squares (protective coverings) for the legs of furniture to protect your home and furnishings while cleaning.

Q: Do your carpet cleaning trucks carry their own water?
A: Yes, some of our carpet cleaning trucks do, but it depends on the job being done and if the job is large enough to warrant bringing out our larger truck. If it is a smaller job, we may need to hook up to an outside water source, or hose bib.

Q: Do you use steam for carpet cleaning or bonnet cleaning?
A: Steam cleaning for most carpet cleaning applications and sometimes bonnet cleaning for commercial carpet cleaning depending on the application. Bonnet Cleaning or low moisture cleaning can be done, but steam cleaning is the preferred choice for carpet cleaning from the carpet manufacturer.

Q: Will having your carpets steam cleaned leave mold or mildew in my carpet?
A: No! In fact, 95% of all carpet manufacturers require that you get your carpet steam cleaned once a year by a certified carpet cleaner in order to keep the warranty on the carpet. The rumor about mold and mildew was created by companies that use the bonnet cleaning method (dry cleaning) as a means of convincing homeowners to change their method of carpet cleaning to theirs. With that said, a carpet cleaning in which the carpet is left sopping wet is not a good cleaning. Best Carpet Cleaning Experts has truck mounted units with powerful suction, and more importantly, trained technicians that understand the difference between a good and bad carpet cleaning.

Q: I am moving out. Do I need to keep my electricity on?
A: Yes. There are two very important reasons to have the electricity on while we are cleaning your carpets and for a short time after we leave. First, we might need to vacuum your carpet before we start cleaning. If we have to vacuum any large areas before we start, a small charge might be incurred. We hope to focus on just the carpet cleaning, please be ready for us to clean. Thank you in advance and Secondly, airflow is the key to a good carpet cleaning. The instructions for leaving your HVAC system (air conditioning) on and your ceiling fans running should be followed in order for your carpet to dry as quickly as possible. Best Carpet Cleaning Experts will use blowers after the carpet cleaning to help dry the carpet faster.

Q: How many carpet cleaning technicians will come to my home?
A: Best Carpet Cleaning Experts uses a two to three carpet cleaners for each carpet cleaning job, a lead technician and an assistant technician and if the job is large, we may provide an additional carpet cleaners. If we have an assistant technician that is sick and we cannot find a replacement (meaning an employee who was scheduled to be off), then we will send out the lead technician only for your carpet cleaning. We will make sure he has an adequate amount of time to do the job right.

Q: Do your carpet cleaners have training for the jobs they do?
A: Yes, we have a rigorous internal training program for carpet cleaning and tile cleaning and technicians are also trained and certified for carpet cleaning with a national certification program.

Q: Does your carpet cleaning company offer carpet repair services?
A: Yes, small patches and relay of carpeting can be done, anything on a larger scale will have to be scheduled and done by our repair man. This is one more reason to choose Best Carpet Cleaning San Antonio.

Q: Does carpet protection really work and what does it cost?
A: We absolutely recommend that you go with the our carpet protection system after your carpets have been cleaned. This is going to protect it by making it simple enough to clean up spills so that they don’t stain. If you can’t remove the spot, our carpet cleaning company can come in with our powerful equipment and do it for you. There is no reason to leave your newly cleaned carpet unprotected. The price for carpet protection is by square footage and is very reasonable affordability for the protection it provides.

Q: Is it true that after your carpets are cleaned they will get dirty faster?
A: This isn’t necessarily the fact on the matter but it depends on what is used. Many types of shampoos used on them can leave behind a residue. As a result these chemicals end up attracting more dirt like a magnet. We however use the most advanced procedures and environmentally safe products. Therefore your carpets will stay clean and residue free after we clean them for you.

Q: Is it possible to get rid of the odors my pets have left in my carpets?
A: Pets can be a great asset to your family but they tend to leave bad odors in the carpets. When they urinate on carpets it is hard to remove the smell because it seeps through to the backing and even the padding. This can also lead to bacteria being able to grow in that area of the carpet. The coloring of the carpet can change as a result of this as well. Don’t worry though because we have techniques to take care of it. We target all the aspects of these problems including each layer of the carpet. We use sanitizers during the carpet cleaning to kill bacteria as well so the smell won’t come back again a few days after we are done. We can’t always save your carpet but we will look at it and let you know what the options are for resolving the problem.

Q: Can you get all of the stains out of my carpet?
A: There are very few types of stains that could be in your carpet that our carpet cleaning experts can’t completely remove. If we can’t take care of them, we will help you find a good solution. Some of them may require a specialized type of treatment that is more intensified. If the stain has been there for a very long time or you have used various types of ineffective cleaners on it then it can be more difficult. However, our carpet cleaners are always up for the challenge and we won’t give up until we have exhausted all of our resources on them. With the expert carpet cleaning training our technicians have, they can take a look at it and identify the type of fiber material, and let you know what the realistic outcome may be.
